Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasizes the Necessity to provide "Several Safety Belts for our State"
According to his words, "the first one and the most important one safety belt for our country is good relations with our neighbouring countries." Today Ukraine "has not solved the border problems with Byelorussia, Moldova, Russia and Romania", the Chairman of the Parliament emphasized. V. Lytvyn is convinced that "our foreign policy is supposed to be strict and explicit the issue on the national borders should not be discussed numerous times."
"Second safety belt is the cooperation with the international institutions and organizations in the frameworks that correspond the national interests of our state", - V. Lytvyn proclaimed.
V. Lytvyn repeatedly made the point that Budapest Memorandum "is supposed to be followed to the full extent" and reminded that according to the Memorandum, Ukraine is guaranteed with the territorial integrity and immunity of its borders. "If these items are violated, the countries participants are supposed to held immediately the consultations and take measures", - he briefed.
"Ukraine must be non-aligned country, neutral country and it will be such a country, - V. Lytvyn concluded. I am convinced that it is necessary to consolidate the Ukrainian society. It is the first and the most important what is supposed to be proclaimed by our country today, on 15th anniversary of Budapest Memorandum."
